				|
 |
				| hi, how does the postcode search work on the new tomtom 6 navigator? on version 5 you can input 7 digit but on tt6 you put in the 1st three digits then it asks you to find the street name.
this did not happen in tt5, you just typed in the full postcode follewed by a house number if avaliable.
can someone please clarify this up for me.

 many tx

				| You still can use the 7 figit Postcode, you just have a different route to the Menu.
Use Browse Map | Find | Address |Postcode or Navigate to ... | Address |Postcode.;)

				| You currently cannot buy TTN6 anywhere.
Those with it either have an official pre-release eval copy, or have been on the darker side of the internet. The latest available that I know of is v6.010 (7720)

You currently cannot LEGALLY buy TTN6 anywhere.

To be honest, Peter, I'm afraid that you are going to have to accept that some people will use cracked versions of software, whether pre-release (eval) or full release final versions. I don't think that you are adding greatly to the sum of human knowledge, by posting a similar comment EVERY time that someone mentions TTN6 | peterc10 wrote: | | | dannyoneill wrote: | | You currently cannot buy TTN6 anywhere.

				| I have not made the comment eveytime, just on those posts where it is obvious that the OP is using illegal software.
I am well aware it is out there ... after all it was me that reported earlier in this thread that it was already on sale on ebay. The question is should we help them to use it. The stated policy of this site is that they will not allow any discussion or help on illegal software.

				| So How do you determine who is using an illegal copy?, some of us are using a supplied evaluation version. _________________

Yes, Lutz has been quite clear on that elsewhere, when talking about the final version of TTN6.

  	  | lbendlin wrote: | | yes, 7720 is the final version. And yes, it's been cracked already. We do not want to see discussions about that on these forums. Posts that talk about it too blatantly will be deleted. |
The point, I feel, is that, once that version is available in the shops, you won't be able to tell who's using cracked or "legal" versions. You just have to accept that as long as the poster doesn't say "Please help me, I have the following problem with my cracked TTN6", they'll get the help!

Also, some of the people currently using TTN6 are, or are claiming to be, dealers/resellers and "industry experts" who have been provided with evaluation copies of the software by TomTom. Although now that I think about that, if that was the case, I would expect them to be the ones providing the indepth technical advice, rather than asking for it!

I entirely agree and when we get to that point it will be a different matter.
