Nuvi 2599 and firmware 5.30

Hi Ive been trying to download this firmware update for the last two days and keeps getting download failed message. Ive tried on two pc's but still get the same message.

Anybody else getting the same message?

There is an issue at the moment, it's been reported on the Garmin forums and acknowledged by Garmin. I suggest you give it a day or two then try again.

Is the firmware OK ?

I ask because I posted similar in another thread with the list of updates. I wonder why we sat on firmware 4.40 for quite a while then they did 4.50 a week or two before releasing 5.30 ?

Tired it today from West Midlands to Peterborough and so far so good. Can't see any difference at the moment.

This thread led me to believe there was a firmware update, but Express gives me: "Your device software is up to date. Version 4.50"

Yours is the same series as mine, 2xx8, the latest is 4.50 as reported. See here:

These guys have a 2xx9 series device
