As long as the BMP has the same name as the various speed cameras it should work
What size are they 22x22 or 44x44
I did create a step by step instruction but ImgUR have blocked access to all the images _________________ Lets be careful out there ! |

Modern Nuvi's don't show the BMP until you are on a route and get close to the point
With your file in place use the Garmin simulated GPS/route option, set a route, and watch from your armchair as you pass a point with a known camera
Assuming this is the issue, you can't view icons by just scrolling round the map _________________ Lets be careful out there ! |

They don't show up whilst I'm driving on any route
But the garmin satnav puts a icon where the downloaded speed camara is that is a large icon with an R in a light brown background |

| I've just tried the armchair journey and no custom bmp I've tried to post a picture of the icon used by satnav but I can't paste it to our conversation |

Strange
As a test, can you use the BMPs that come with the download and see if they work
I do remember something I read where the bmp needs to be a particular colour depth max, number of colours, which I forget
Having looked at all the ones I have, that work, they are
"44 x 44 x RGB - 8 bits/channel"
"22 x 22 x Index - 256 color palette"
"44 x 44 x Index - 256 color palette"
Now that ImgUR has gone I'm investigating ImgBB for image hosting _________________ Lets be careful out there ! |

Once again thank you for your help
I'll have a look later at the colour depth
I'll try the bmp that come with the download
It just seems very strange that the bmps don't show up in my new satnav that I've used for ten years in my old satnav.
I'll look and test later today and get back to you with the results. |

well after checking the bit depth and changing it = nothing shows ie custom bmp
checking that the details match ie gatso csv and gatso bmp =nothing shows ie custom bmp
changing the sizes 22x22 44x44 8bit 256 colour palette =nothing shows ie custom bmp
so after spending about five hours on this ive come to the conclusion that this satnav wont take custom bmp so im just going to put up with it
so thank you for your help and input it was greatly appreciated |

Very odd
Another thought, make sure you haven't got any other speedcam active like the Cyclops as with both running Cyclops may override yours _________________ Lets be careful out there ! |

i've tried with cyclops off and there's no conflict.
with cyclops on there's no conflict.
so i'm still at a lost as to why custom bmps don't work on my garmin lgv 820 .
so ill just have to get on with it
so once again thank you for your help |

The only other thing I'd try is my CSV Converter as that checks the validity of the files and uses GPX instead of CSV that POILoader treats differently _________________ Lets be careful out there ! |
