And the robbing Renault charged me £60 for the “Latest” map for my R-link TomTom map VERSION 1125!!! _________________ Dennis

It's thanks to TomTom and their support arrangements with older in-car navigation devices that us poor stand alone device users can still get hold of compatible maps... but the clock is ticking.
I just never understood why TomTom spent so many years (and loads of money) creating such brilliant devices and simply didn't port it all over to Android and give it a facelift etc.
Instead they’ve brought out completely new versions for Android which lack almost all of the features that made their devices so desirable.
This is why I’ll keep my 940’s going until there are absolutely no way of keeping them going.
When my devices are finally condemned I’ll probably switch to Sygic or something similar, but not TomTom. _________________ 🔸🔸 Currently using TomTom GO 940 & Locus Map 🔸🔸 |

The built in system was an optional extra for £800. Maps download from Renault software always lagged way behind TT updates and only issued them six months or more behind. Then the website fell over and Renault “Support” (!!!) gave me free updates, maybe once a year but older versions. Then they simply ended it all and handed it back to TT obtainable only by purchasing a ‘new’ SD card which turned out to be really old versions. I’ve reached an age when new vehicles are no longer on plan, but if I ever did get one there’s no way I’d specify built in nav. _________________ Dennis
