Pop up window Test fails Android 15 on One Plus Nord 5

Do not get Pop up window on my new Phone. because "display over other Apps" is not allowed. The toggle switch to turn it on is greyed out. If I tap it it States App denied access - learn how to allow access.
I have tried everything they suggest Tap Apps - Tap more - allow resticted settings. This does not allow (It does state that it was written for Android 13. I have 15.
On anroid 15 you have to go Settings - Apps- special App Access - Display over other apps - speedtrap alert (which states Not allowed) tap it and you go back to original greyed out display over other apps Togggle switch.

I would value your thoughts on this

Having done some more research it seems that Android 15 sees Speedtrap Alert as a "side loaded" app and restricts the permissions on them.

I have Android 15 on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (One UI 7) and the overlaid notification works

If I recall correctly STA is no longer available on Play Store so had to be side loaded.


I can't post a screenshot as I don't have access to an image hosting site

Settings, Apps, menu special access and then Appear on top checked

Might it be something to do with a modified version of Android for your One Plus?[/img]

I sspect you are correct about Oneplus Nord 5. I am trying there customer service. I hope to speak to a human, but am not holding my breath

By chance my phone has just updated this evening to Android 16 and One UI 8.0

The quick test in STA works as normal, audio and visual popup as designed
